As a Vermont based company, Molly takes pride in personally designing and handcrafting her jewelry in her home studio in Stowe. All designs are created to have a personality and story of their own, from spreading good karma with her elegant yet wearable "Karma Charma" necklaces and bracelets, to her limited quantity statement pieces whose beauty and style stand alone. Molly believes that jewelry is a part of your personality, and therefore designs her pieces with every person in mind, from the most modest of jewelry wearer, to the boldest trend setter, there is piece just waiting to have a coveted place in your heart. Molly's desire is to create pieces that are casual enough for day, yet are unique enough to create a buzz when dressed to the nines. The idea of having your MTL being the first thing you reach for time and time again is what keeps Molly motivated and creative! Bio: Molly Lauridsen was born into a family of artists, so it was only natural for her to put her inherited creativity to use. Her eye for color and detail was developed at an early age through instruction in watercolor and acrylic paint from both her paternal grandfather Laurids "Bud" Lauridsen, and her maternal grandmother. After leaving her hometown of New London, NH, she attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where she developed a love for the colors and the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Returning to the East Coast after college, she was fortunate enough to find a job at a gallery that encouraged her to put her artistic talent to work, making jewelry. Designing and making jewelry began as a hobby, but soon developed into more, and MTL Jewelry Design was formed in the hopes that other people would be able to appreciate her unique style of art. Drawing inspiration from her New Hampshire roots, her family of artists, and her love of the West, which is particularly seen through her use of Turquoise and other bold colors, each piece is uniquely crafted using high quality stones, vintage pendants, and sterling silver. Molly creates all of her pieces with the idea that jewelry is not only an accessory, but is an individual statement. |
